STOCKTON, Calif. — A devastating shooting during a family gathering at a banquet hall in Stockton claimed the lives of four individuals and left ten others wounded, according to local sheriff’s officials. The incident, which unfolded on Saturday evening, has raised concerns within the community about safety and targeted violence. The victims included both children and adults, underscoring the tragic aftermath of such senseless violence.

Heather Brent, a spokesperson for the San Joaquin County sheriff’s office, noted that early indications suggest the shooting might have been targeted. In response to the incident, authorities have been actively searching for the suspected shooter, who remains at large. San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas urged anyone with information related to the case to come forward, emphasizing the community's role in aiding the investigation.

Freitas stated, “If you are this individual, turn yourself in immediately.” Mayor Christina Fugazzi expressed her sorrow over the event, stating, “Families should be together instead of at the hospital, standing next to their loved one, praying that they survive.” Local hospitals are treating several of the victims, although officials have not disclosed their conditions as of yet.
