The search for the wreckage of an Angara Airlines An-24 plane has taken a pivotal turn, as Russian rescue services have confirmed its discovery approximately 16 kilometers away from Tynda airport. The plane was en route from Blagoveshchensk, close to the Chinese border, when it mysteriously vanished from radar with 43 passengers and six crew members on board, including five children.
As per reports from emergency officials and the regional governor, Vasily Orlov, all necessary resources were mobilized immediately in the search efforts. Shortly thereafter, a civil aviation helicopter from Russia's emergencies ministry managed to spot the burning fuselage of the aircraft on a hillside.
The plane had been on its final approach just before disappearing, having previously departed from Khabarovsk in the southeastern region. Emergency services confirmed that rescuers are presently making their way to the crash site as they attempt to assess the situation and provide aid.
