CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A tragic incident occurred during a wedding at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire, where a shooting left one dead and two injured. Hunter Nadeau, aged 23, has been charged with second-degree murder following the attack, which witnesses described as chaotic.

Robert DeCesare Jr., 59, was fatally shot while attempting to protect his wife and daughter from the gunman. The quick response of patrons was crucial in preventing additional injuries; several bravely intervened to stop Nadeau.

Michael Homewood, a DJ at the event, reported that one guest struck the shooter with a chair, potentially saving lives in the process. New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella praised the selfless actions of those who intervened during the attack.

Witnesses recounted the horror of the scene as the gunfire erupted. Emily Ernst described seeing a shooter in all black, while others heard the frantic screams and chaos as guests sought safety.

The community has rallied in support of the victims, with the owner of the country club expressing his heartbreak over the tragedy. Investigators are still working to determine Nadeau's motives, but there is no current evidence suggesting a hate-driven agenda.

The incident underscores the ongoing issues surrounding gun violence in the U.S. and highlights the strength and resilience of community members who will not let fear prevail.
