A 48-year-old man from New Albany, Mississippi, identified as Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, has been charged with stalking and vandalism after allegedly harassing actress Jennifer Aniston for nearly two years. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced the charges following an incident where Carwyle reportedly drove his car through the front gate of Aniston's Bel Air home, inflicting considerable damage.

Carwyle's stalking behavior reportedly began on March 1, 2023, which included sending various unwanted messages through social media, voicemail, and email. As District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman emphasized, stalking is a serious offense that “can quickly escalate from harassment to dangerous, violent actions,” underscoring the risks posed to victims and the wider community.

The incident occurred when Carwyle allegedly crashed into Aniston’s property earlier this week before positioning his vehicle in her driveway. He was detained by security personnel until police arrived to arrest him. Aniston's residence, a midcentury-modern mansion, was prominently featured in Architectural Digest and served as the venue for her wedding to actor Justin Theroux in 2015, from which she has since divorced.

According to a longtime friend of Carwyle's, Marty Merritt, his behavior took a concerning turn during the COVID-19 pandemic, during which he reportedly began to express beliefs that he had a divine connection that compelled him to pursue Aniston. Merritt shared that Carwyle’s messages became increasingly bizarre, with claims of being both God and the Antichrist, leading to a growing concern for Aniston's safety.

Attempts to contact Jennifer Aniston for her comment on this distressing situation have not been successful. Merritt expressed remorse over the events, stating, "I’m so sorry Ms. Aniston that this happened to you."
