Delta Air Lines Offers Compensation to Passengers Following Toronto Flight Crash

Delta Airlines extends $30,000 to each passenger on the crash-affected flight, emphasizing support post-incident.

Delta Air Lines has announced a compensation of $30,000 for each passenger involved in the recent crash of Flight 4819, which occurred while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday. The aircraft, travelling from Minneapolis, flipped over, ultimately resting on its belly with its right wing detached. Remarkably, all 80 individuals on board, which included 76 passengers and four crew members, survived the incident, with only 21 being hospitalized—most of whom were released shortly after receiving care. In a statement, Delta confirmed the offer is “no strings attached,” ensuring it does not impact the passengers' rights. The airline’s swift response comes as many passengers engage legal representation amid an ongoing investigation into the crash. Delta’s CEO, Ed Bastian, highlighted the presence of an experienced crew on the flight while remaining tight-lipped about further specifics. The wreckage of the plane has since been removed from the airport, clearing the way for normal operations at Canada’s busiest airport.
