US President Donald Trump is scheduled to make an unprecedented second state visit to the UK on September 16-18, 2025, alongside his wife, Melania. This visit is notable as traditionally, US presidents serving a second term are not invited for state visits.

The invitation was extended by King Charles III after a meeting between Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Trump, marking it as a historic occasion.

During the visit, the Trumps will be hosted by King Charles at Windsor Castle, where several ceremonial events are planned, including a royal salute, laying a wreath on Queen Elizabeth II’s tomb, and a state banquet featuring speeches from both Trump and the King.

On Thursday, Trump will meet with Prime Minister Starmer at Chequers to discuss UK-US relations and view the archives of Winston Churchill. Melania Trump will participate in cultural activities in Windsor, reflecting the ongoing engagement between the two nations.

Anticipating the arrival, the Stop Trump coalition has organized demonstrations to voice opposition to Trump's policies, particularly regarding climate change and international conflicts.

Significant security measures are expected during the visit, with police deployments reminiscent of Trump's previous state visit in 2019.
