TUNIS, Tunisia – The Global Sumud Flotilla, a coalition of international activists seeking to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, reported a second drone attack on one of its vessels while anchored in Tunisian waters.

The incident occurred on the British-flagged boat, named Alma, where footage captured onboard showed crew members reacting to the drone strike, calling out in alarm as flaming projectiles struck their vessel. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported.

This attack follows a similar incident involving the Portuguese-flagged vessel, Family, prompting ongoing investigations by Tunisian authorities. The authorities have disputed claims that drones were used in these incidents, leaving the activists and their supporters concerned for their safety.

With approximately 20 boats in its fleet, the flotilla set sail from Barcelona on September 1, aiming to deliver a symbolic amount of aid to Gaza before making a stop in Tunisia. Activists stated, These repeat attacks come during intensified Israeli aggression on Palestinians in Gaza, and are an orchestrated attempt to distract and derail our mission.”

Despite the alarming reports, the activists remain committed to their cause, emphasizing their resolve to continue their journey despite the challenges they face. As of now, there has been no response from Israeli authorities regarding these incidents.
