Stars including Cate Blanchett, Glenn Close, and Richard Gere were present for the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2026 collection show in Milan on September 28, 2025—the final collection worked on by the celebrated Italian designer before his passing.

Initially presented as a celebration of 50 years of the Armani fashion house, the show turned into a heartfelt tribute following Armani's death earlier this month at the age of 91.

Set in the cherished setting of the Pinacoteca di Brera art gallery, where over 120 of his creations are exhibited, the atmosphere was both nostalgic and celebratory.

The runway showcased models who had previously walked for Armani over the last five decades, displaying an elegant mix of classic suits and stunning dresses.

Soft hues and nature-inspired shades reflected Armani's love for his Italian home, Pantelleria, with models adorned in colors evoking the earth and sea.

Wrapped in paper lanterns reminiscent of a public viewing held for Armani earlier in the month, the courtyard setting added to the poignancy of the event.

“This moment, this atmosphere speaks for itself. There's a lot of memories here tonight,” remarked Blanchett after the show.

The collection concluded with a striking blue gown, adorned with an image of Armani's face, which captivated the audience and prompted a standing ovation.

Reflecting on Armani’s indeelible mark on fashion, the brand noted: “This collection, the last Giorgio Armani worked on personally, is in some ways a testament to style and the close of a cycle, so that new ones may begin.”

The emotional farewell was complemented by live piano music from renowned Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi, as Vogue's out-going editor-in-chief Anna Wintour also graced the event.

Across town, the filming of 'The Devil Wears Prada' sequel took place, with Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci also in attendance—symbolizing the intertwining of fashion and cinema in Milan.
