The House Oversight Committee has released a batch of around 70 photos from the estate of late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. It's the third such release from a tranche of over 95,000 photos the committee has acquired from Epstein's estate. The images include quotes from the book 'Lolita' written across a woman's body, and redacted images of women's foreign passports. This release comes hours before the Department of Justice's 19 December deadline to release all files related to its investigation into Epstein.

These new images raise more questions about what exactly the Department of Justice has in its possession, said Robert Garcia, the ranking member of the committee.

Some of the photos released show Epstein with notable figures such as professor Noam Chomsky, Bill Gates, and former aides. Previous disclosures included images of high-profile individuals, including former presidents and influential personalities, but being in the photos does not imply wrongdoing.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee emphasized that the Epstein estate provided no context for the photos, stating their aim was to illuminate Epstein's network and disturbing activities. Quotations from Nabokov's novel 'Lolita' appear written in ink on a woman's body, provoking further discussion on Epstein's controversial legacy.

The ongoing release of photos continues to draw public attention as it coincides with the impending DOJ deadline, when the details of the government's internal investigation into Epstein and his associates are set to emerge.
