The retired General Motors worker was overwhelmed as he received an oversized check, a gift that came about thanks to the kindness of Sam Weidenhofer, a 22-year-old Australian social media influencer with over 10 million followers.

Two weeks prior, Weidenhofer met Bambas in a Meijer store and shared his touching story on TikTok. Bambas mentioned financial challenges following the passing of his wife, Joan, in 2018. “I don’t have enough income,” he stated, resonating with many viewers.
