Wisconsin officials have petitioned to revoke Morgan Geyser's conditional release after she escaped from a group home. Geyser, who was convicted in connection with the 2014 Slender Man stabbing, cut off her GPS bracelet and traveled to Illinois before being detained. A judge will hear the motion on December 22, and Geyser could face a return to mental health facilities and new charges.

Wisconsin authorities have asked a state court to revoke the conditional release of Morgan Geyser, who almost killed her sixth grade classmate in 2014 in an attack linked to the fictional horror character Slender Man. Earlier this week, Geyser escaped from a group home where she had been placed following her conditional release from a state mental institution. On Wednesday, a judge agreed to seal the petition filed by the Department of Corrections that aims to revoke this release. Geyser is 23 years old and was previously granted release to a group home after spending years in mental health facilities following the stabbing incident.Geyser fled the Madison group home on Saturday night, removing her GPS monitoring bracelet. Authorities later located her outside of Chicago, approximately 170 miles from her residence in Madison.Accompanied by a 43-year-old, who has been charged with trespassing and obstruction, Geyser did not contest her return to Wisconsin during a court appearance in Chicago. She is currently being held at the Waukesha County jail.A motion hearing is scheduled for December 22, to determine the future of Geyser's conditional release status. If the court decides to revoke her release, Geyser could be sent back to the mental health facility where she had spent most of the last eight years.Geyser's past includes her role in the brutal 2014 stabbing of her classmate Payton Leutner, which resulted in serious injuries and was claimed to be motivated by a desire to impress the Slender Man character, hoping to become his servant. The incident raised significant public fear and scrutiny over mental health issues, peer influence, and the impact of internet myths on youth. Her friend, who accompanied her during the escape, mentioned that Geyser felt pressured to flee due to fears over their friendship being restricted by the group home's management. The friend stated that they had developed a relationship at church and had seen each other daily for the past month, leading to Geyser's hasty decision to escape.
