In a surprising turn of events, the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) has alerted consumers regarding a recall of Celsius energy drinks. The warning specifically applies to the Astro Vibe Blue Razz edition, which was found to have been accidentally filled with vodka due to a packaging error. The fiasco began when a packaging supplier sent empty Celsius cans to the alcoholic beverage company High Noon, leading them to fill the cans with their vodka seltzer product.

In addition to the energy drinks, High Noon is recalling several of its Beach Variety packs linked to the same production mishap. Thankfully, the USFDA reported that there have been no illnesses or negative incidents associated with these particular products. The recall affects two distinct production lots, details of which have been made available on the USFDA’s website. Consumers are advised to check their retail locations in states including Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin for products shipped between July 21 and July 23.

The specific recalled High Noon packs contain the retail code UPC 085000040065 along with specified lot codes, while the affected Celsius cans feature retail code UPC 8 89392 00134 1 and various lot numbers. It is important to note that the lot codes can be found lasered onto the bottom of the cans.

As a precautionary measure, the USFDA strongly recommends that consumers dispose of any impacted Celsius Astro Vibe energy drink cans without consuming the liquid. However, they have clarified that High Noon Beach Variety packs with different lot codes remain unaffected and are safe for consumption.
