In brief

During his recent visit to the United Nations General Assembly, Donald Trump experienced a series of technical mishaps, including an escalator malfunction, a teleprompter issue, and audio problems that he characterized as 'triple sabotage.' The former president took to social media, demanding an investigation and the arrest of those responsible, calling the incidents 'sinister.' UN officials attributed some of the mishaps to safety mechanisms and confirmed the sound system was functioning as designed for translated speeches.

During his recent visit to the United Nations General Assembly, Donald Trump experienced a series of technical mishaps that he characterized as triple sabotage. This included a malfunction of the escalator just as he and First Lady Melania Trump boarded, issues with the teleprompter during his speech, and sound complications in the auditorium that prompted widespread criticism.

On his social media platform, Trump labeled these occurrences as more than mere coincidences, asserting they represented a deliberate attack on his appearance. He called for a thorough investigation and stated he was sending a letter to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres for an immediate inquiry.

A REAL DISGRACE took place at the United Nations yesterday - Not one, not two, but three very sinister events! he posted. He further added, This wasn't a coincidence; this was triple sabotage at the UN. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. Trump demanded that the individuals responsible for the escalator incident be arrested and referenced a report about UN staff joking about the situation.

A UN official later explained that the escalator's safety mechanism may have been inadvertently triggered by Trump's videographer while filming. Furthermore, he noted that the audio issues were intentional, as the sound system may have been working to provide translated speeches through earpieces.

The escalator and teleprompter failures drew immediate concern from White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who posited whether someone had intentionally stopped the escalator. Mike Waltz, US ambassador to the UN, echoed Trump's sentiment, emphasizing the need for security protocols to be strictly maintained at international forums.

Despite Trump's claims of sabotage, the UN maintained that its equipment operated as intended, and the teleprompter issues were attributed to a technical malfunction, with officials asserting that necessary troubleshooting was completed by the time of his address.
