In a tragic incident in the Ugandan capital of Kampala, four children were brutally stabbed and killed while attending Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program School. The police have confirmed the deaths, describing the act as a brutal attack.
A 34-year-old suspect has been detained, but the motives behind this horrific act remain unclear, as stated in a brief announcement by the Uganda Police Force. Crime scene investigators are currently examining the area for evidence.
The victims, aged between two and three years, were attacked after the suspect, reportedly posing as a parent, gained entry to the school and spoke briefly with the administrator before launching the attack.
Parents gathered outside the school in despair and anger following the news of the attack, expressing their grief and shock. Videos circulating on social media depict a chaotic scene with distressed citizens reacting to the tragedy.
Local journalist Erich Mboowa reported that law enforcement acted swiftly to apprehend the suspect in order to protect him from a possible lynching by the enraged crowd.
As the investigation progresses, more information is awaited from police authorities, including potential security measures to enhance the safety of children in schools across the country.
