A former model, Stacey Williams, has brought to light troubling allegations in a CNN interview, claiming she was groped by former President Donald Trump in the early 1990s. This incident supposedly occurred in 1993 at Trump Tower in New York City, following her introduction to Trump by Jeffrey Epstein, her then-boyfriend, a now notorious figure due to his criminal background.
During the interview, Williams recounted the alarming experience, stating, "The second he [Trump] was in front of me, he pulled me into him, and his hands were just on me and didn’t come off.” She went on to describe how Trump’s hands moved across her body, touching her inappropriately while Epstein and Trump conversed nearby. This unsettling episode left her feeling as though she were having "an out of body experience," ultimately leading her to "freeze" in response to the situation. Shortly after the alleged incident, Williams ended her relationship with Epstein, who was arrested on sex crime charges in 2019 and died by suicide while awaiting trial.
In the wake of these allegations, the Trump campaign has categorically denied the claims, suggesting they are fabrications intended to undermine Trump’s political standing ahead of the upcoming election. Campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt indicated that the allegations surfaced just weeks before the election during an event supporting Trump's political rival, Kamala Harris. “These accusations... announced on a Harris Campaign call two weeks before the election, are unequivocally false,” Leavitt stated.
Several other women have also accused Trump of sexual assault since his presidential candidacy inquiries began in 2016, although he has consistently denied their claims. Most notably, in 2023, a civil jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll, leading to two defamation lawsuits against him following his disparaging public remarks.
As the 2024 election approaches, this situation adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing discourse surrounding Trump's political legacy and the seriousness of the allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
