New York's LaGuardia airport has been closed until further notice after an Air Canada Express plane and ground vehicle collided. The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop for the airport late on Sunday night, indicating a 'high' likelihood that the order would be extended. CBS News reported that the plane was arriving from Montreal and had slowed down to about 24mph when it struck a vehicle operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which manages the airport. The aircraft, a smaller CRJ 900 model carrying approximately 70-90 passengers, sustained significant damage. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries at this stage.
