Kiefer Sutherland has been arrested after allegedly assaulting and threatening a ride-share driver in Hollywood, according to police reports.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) stated that Sutherland entered a ride-share vehicle, physically assaulted the driver—who remains unnamed—and made criminal threats during the incident that occurred at approximately 12:15 AM PST on Monday.

The victim was reportedly unharmed in the altercation.

The 59-year-old actor was subsequently released on a $50,000 bond and is set to attend a court hearing on February 2, 2026. Attempts to reach out to his representatives for comment have been made.

The controversy unfolded at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Hollywood, and the LAPD's Hollywood Division is actively investigating the incident.

Best known for his portrayal of special agent Jack Bauer in the series 24 and as the U.S. president in Designated Survivor, Sutherland is the son of renowned actor Donald Sutherland. The British-Canadian actor has faced several legal issues in his past, including a DUI-related 48-day jail sentence in 2007 and previous arrests for assault-related incidents.
