Romanian prosecutors have charged former kickboxer‑turned‑social‑media star Andrew Tate (39) and his brother Tristan (38) with further sex crimes. According to the Romanian Directorate for Investigating Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), the pair allegedly netted more than $1.2 million (£888,000) by coercing a 15‑year‑old girl to perform sexual acts on video chats for profit.
Andrew faces charges of trafficking minors, money laundering and sex with a minor. Tristan is accused of complicity in minor trafficking and money laundering. Both are currently in a Miami jail while fighting extradition to the UK over separate charges.
Investigators say the disputed victim was recruited by Tristan when she turned fifteen and later moved to Romania, where Andrew allegedly controlled her through surveillance, physical intimidation and forced sexual acts. He is also charged with moving her to two of his residential addresses to continue exploitation.
The indictment specifies that prosecutors seek confiscation of four luxury cars owned by the brothers, worth £710,000, claiming the vehicles were used to launder money from alleged prostitution and exploitation activities.
The brothers have denied every allegation, stating that their online personas do not reflect their real identities. Attorney Eugen Constantin Vidineac remarked that the latest indictment “does not determine guilt” and will be subject to rigorous judicial scrutiny for evidential and procedural completeness.
The court will first examine the charges before any trial can commence. Meanwhile, the representatives of the Tate brothers hope the judiciary will uphold the presumption of innocence and allow a full defense to challenge the evidence presented by the prosecution.
