The Guthrie family, including prominent US television presenter Savannah Guthrie, is desperately seeking the public's assistance in locating their missing mother, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who was reported abducted from her Tucson home seven weeks ago on February 1.
In a heartfelt plea to the community shared with NBC Tucson affiliate KVOA, the family stated, We desperately ask this community for renewed attention to our mom's case. Despite extensive searches and investigations by local authorities, there have been no significant leads or suspects identified.
A masked figure was seen on surveillance footage from outside Nancy's home the night she went missing, but nearly two months into the investigation, police have yet to make any breakthroughs.
The Guthrie family has expressed immense gratitude towards the Tucson community for their unwavering support, while also reiterating their belief that the solution to finding Nancy lies within the knowledge of local residents. They encouraged individuals to examine their own records and memories, emphasizing that no detail is too minor and could potentially aid in resolving the case.
“We miss our mom with every breath and we cannot be in peace until she is home,” the family shared, stressing their commitment to finding her. They are also offering a $1M reward for information leading to Nancy's return, in addition to the $100,000 reward from the FBI.
“We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder. Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home,” they added. The family hopes to celebrate her life once she is brought to a final place of rest, reflecting the deep emotional toll this search has taken on their lives.
As the investigation continues, both the Pima County Sheriff and the FBI remain involved, yet the mystery surrounding Nancy's disappearance endures, leaving her family in a state of uncertainty and sorrow.
