A chauffuer who was driving Anthony Joshua when their car crashed killing two of the boxer's friends has appeared in court in Nigeria.

Adeniyi Kayode, 46, was previously charged with four crimes, including death by dangerous driving.

Joshua's personal trainer, Latif Ayodele, and strength coach, Sina Ghami, died on 29 December after their vehicle collided with a stationary lorry near Lagos. Joshua was treated in hospital for his injuries.

Kayode arrived at Sagamu Magistrates Court in Ogun state on Tuesday, but the case was adjourned until 25 February after the prosecutor was granted more time to gain legal advice.

He did not speak during the hearing, appearing in a black hoodie and trousers.

Previously released on bail of 5 million Naira (approximately $3,500), Kayode faces serious accusations including driving without the proper license. Meanwhile, Joshua, formerly a heavyweight champion, was on his way to visit family in a town close to the crash site when the incident occurred.

Following the crash, Joshua shared an emotional tribute to his deceased friends, reflecting on the significant impact they had on his life.
