In a heartbreaking event, nine people have lost their lives in a mass shooting that transpired in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have reported that the tragic incident occurred at a local school and a nearby residence, leaving another 25 individuals injured. The assailant's body was also found at the scene.

Efforts to secure the area included a lockdown at both Tumbler Ridge Secondary School and Tumbler Ridge Elementary School, ensuring the safety of students and staff until officers arrived on-site within two minutes of the initial report.
