Former Migos rapper Offset has been shot outside a casino in Florida, according to US media reports. The 34-year-old, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is in a 'stable' condition and being 'closely monitored' in hospital, a spokesperson told Variety. The Seminole Police Department reported that the incident occurred on Monday evening and confirmed that two people have been detained in connection with the shooting.
Police stated that the incident took place 'at a valet area' after 19:00 on Monday outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, which resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to Offset. They indicated that the investigation is ongoing. Offset is best known for being part of the hip-hop trio Migos, alongside Quavo and Takeoff. The rapper married singer Cardi B in 2017, and the couple has three children, although they later separated and filed for divorce in 2024.
Migos first garnered major attention with their viral hit 'Versace' in 2013, and their song 'Bad and Boujee' reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2017. The group is widely recognized as one of the most influential acts of their generation. Tragically, in November 2022, Takeoff was shot dead in Houston, Texas, an event that shook the music community. Offset continues to pursue a solo career following the group's earlier split.
