At least three Palestinian women have been killed and eight more injured after missile debris hit a beauty salon in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

The PRCS stated that shrapnel struck the site in the town of Beit Awwa, near Hebron, in the southern West Bank.

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that fragments landed on a metal caravan used as a salon, as well as in various other locations across the West Bank.

A Thai worker was also killed from shrapnel that hit a farming community in Israel. These incidents unfolded shortly after Israel's military announced efforts to intercept an Iranian missile attack.

Wafa identified the victims from the salon as 17-year-old Mais Ghazi Masalmeh, 50-year-old Sahira Rizq Masalmeh, and 36-year-old Amal Sobhi Abdel Karim Matawa' Masalmeh.

The PRCS's emergency response teams, including at least five ambulances, rushed to the scene, where they discovered “several casualties and injuries.” The bodies of the three women were taken to a local hospital, along with other victims with critical and moderate injuries.

The PRCS initially reported four fatalities but later revised the number to three. They also indicated that the rescue teams faced significant challenges reaching the site due to closed iron gates, which hindered timely aid to those injured.

In Israel, the Thai worker was found dead in Moshav Adanim, approximately 20 km northeast of Tel Aviv. Israeli emergency services indicated that metal shrapnel was scattered across the scene. His identity has not yet been disclosed.

The overall situation underscores the dangers of ongoing military actions in the region, impacting both Palestinian and Israeli lives, and calls for urgent attention to civilian safety amidst military conflicts.
